An equation is derived for evaluating the earth pressure due to backfill consisted of two cohesionless soils, facing at a nearly vertical plane. Calculated results of the coefficient K=(2P_1)/(γ_1H^2) are depicted in diagrams as functions of material parameters and geometical parameters.
