今日の行政課題は地方分権の推進にあるが、効果的な地方分権の成立に不可欠な地域コミュニティは深刻な衰退傾向にあるところが少なくない。そのため自治体は地域コミュニティの再構成に様々な策を講じており、その一環として地域SNSを導入・運営する事例がみられる。しかし、地域SNSの導入と運営は他地域の成功例をそのまま用いても良い結果が得られるとは限らない。本論文では、熊本県八代市、東京都三鷹市、岡山県岡山市の事例をもとに、地域コミュニティの特性と地域SNSの導入および運営の方針との関係について論じる。
