We have reported four cases of a schizophrenia-like syndrome in which the disease started with auditory hallucination in childhood. Phenomena and symptoms common to these four cases were that they developed ”Doppelorientierung” at once after auditory hallucinations, and did not show the personality disintegration and autism common to infantile schizophrenia. They did not have any critical problems, such as adverse effects on their mental development, from the viewpoint of growth history. Their intellectual level was above average, and EEG findings were within normal range.
