A slow-moving alkaline phosphatase was found by ager gel electrophoresis in serum of a patient with liver cirrhosis. This slow band was detected on clinical remission of hepatitis and disappeared, half a year later, on re-exacerbation of hepatitis. The slow band was confirmed to be the same one as that in ulcerative colitis
