Innovation of the feeding process was considered for the improvement of efficiency in a coal gasification process. Thermal preconditioning process of a caol-water mixture was developed. The estimation of the operating characteristics for a coal gasifier with the thermally preconditioned feed was carried out. The feeding condition of a coal-steam mixture was determined experimentally. The calculated results has revealed that the application of a thermal preconditioning process has various merits such as the increase in cold gas efficiency and the decrease in oxygen demand per unit production of CO and H_2.
