Precast multiple-anchored walls have been used in concrete retaining walls due to its quick and economic construction. A short anchor bolt embedded in such wall and slab structures, whose depth are shallow, do not have sufficient embedment length to develop tensile yield stress in the bolt. The purpose of this study is to provide design data and an improvement in tensile capacity of short anchor bolts. As the results of the study, use of the anchor plate provides greater ultimate strength for such a short anchor bolt developed in concrete and ultimate strength formula based on the idealized conical failure can correctly estimate its tensile capacity. Reinforcement in concrete can increase ultimate strength and ductility after the initiation of cracking. In addition, design considerations for the multiple-anchored retaining wall were suggested on the basis of the experimental results.
