Cerebellar hypoplasia in five calves were examined pathologically. Hydranencephaly in a case and hydrocephaly in other four cases were also observed. In severely hypoplastic cerebellum, only the trace of folia of the cerebellum were seen grossly and submeningeal cystic cavity was present. In other cases the cerebellum was small and poorly developed. Microscopically, the structure of the cerebellum was disorganized and granular cells were intermingled with partly degenerated Purkinje cells. Nerve cells in the ventral horn of the spinal cord decreased in number with few degenerative changes. In the present cerebellar hypoplasia, the confusion of the regulation of cerebller development was impressed rather than the destruction of the cerebellum by inflammatory process.
