Incidence of amyloid deposits was surveyed in 3,000 cows at Ube Abattoir during a four-year period from 1981 to 1984. At autopsy the kidneys were examined by the method of iodine sulfuric acid reaction as a screening test for amyloid deposits. The dark-brown areas (positive reaction) were found in 23 out of 3,000 coes
