On Schzophrenic Patients Who Undergo Repetitive Hospitalization and Discharge

The various factors precipitationg recurrences of psychosis after diamissal from hospital have been investigated in a series of 19 schizophrenic cases which showed recurrences requiring readmission during a three -year period from 1974 at the Onoda Shinwa-en Hospital. The study has revealed　the precipitating 　factors include : inadequate familial environment and unsatisfactory employment terms imposing upon the patient and, on the part of the patient, a discontinuation of drug medication, drug deviation, and so forth. It is felt that the results of the present investigation could be of value in many ways in proceeding with future practice treatment.
