The Relationship Between the Seismicity and the Consciousness of Earthquake Disaster Prevention in Schools

The purpose of this study is to first investigate the relationship between the seismicity and the consciousness of the disaster prevention of earthquakes in schools, and then, to look for an effective means of disaster prevention. First, the seismicity of the capral cities of seven prefectures were estimated. Then a questionnaire was performed to grasp the present situation about tackling earthquake disaster prevention. According to the questionnaire, there was a general tendency that the higher the seismicity, the higher the consciousness of disaster prevention. It was also found that the development of effective audiovisual materials is highly wanted.
