Descriptions
This investigation was made on PL and EL of ZnS : Mn phosphors. ZnS : Mn powder phosphors were prepared by firing of ZnS and MnCl_2. A PL emission of ZnS : Mn powder phosphors peaking at both 4500 A and 5800 A was observed by UV excitation. The EL cells in this study had an Al-ZnS : Mn-insulator layer-In_2O_3 : Sn structure. EL emission peaking at both 4500 A and 5700 A was observed under the operation of ac voltage more than 60-70 volts. The EL brightness followed the well-known log B&vprop
