筆者らはカワラヨモギArtemisia capillaris Thunberg の本邦産個体群に関する細胞学的形態学的研究の過程で，現在までに，本種には2n＝18の株のほかに，2n＝19，20，22，18～19，18～20，19～20および20または22の異敬体が存在すること，および2n＝18の株で核型において普通核型にみられる1対の小形のsubterminal染色体に加えて1個の大形または小形のsubterminal染色体を含む核型をもつ株の存在することを明らかにした(益森・古賀・岡田，1973)。本報告においては，本邦中国および四国地方に自生する6個体群について上記の事実に関して分析した結果を中間的に報告する。
