We investigated the awareness of the effect of foundation in about 855 women analyzing factors relating to age, physical constitution and use or non-use of foundation. The percentage recovery of this survey was 84%. The results are summarized as follow : 1. Young women (under 29 years of age) used brassieres habitually, while middle aged women habitually used girdles. 2. The awareness of the effect of girdles and bodysuits tended to be different from that of brassieres. 3. The awareness of ease of movement, effect on office work, pressure, fitness, touch and temperature were different depending on age and physical constitution. 4. in the result of analysis of Quantification Theory II, the correlation ratio was 0.67 and the rate for discriminant was 94.3%. It was supposed that high ranking items relevant to the discrimination of use or non-use of foundation was derived from age group, fitness and effects on office work.
