Gastroschisis is one of the common diseases for emergency operation in neonates. Antenatal diagnosis is available nowadays and it is generally believed that the earlier the operation, the better the clinical results. We had three cases of gastroschisis with different pre-operative clinical managements. The first case was a girl with antenatal diagnosis who underwent an immediate operation after Caesarean section. She was discharged on the 57th post-operative day without a complication. The second case was a boy born at another hospital and the operation was performed about 3 hours and 30 minutes after birth. His pre-operative condition was well maintained and a primary closure was performed. He was discharged on the 35th post-operative day. The third case was a boy born at his home and the operation was performed about 10 hours after birth. He suffered from a sepsis and a DIC after operation and was discharged on the 68th postoperative day. He is still under pediatric surveillance for hepatitis C acquired before discharge. The treatment of gastroschisis is established and the results are good. We analyzed three cases with different pre-operative managements and their prognosis. Our report emphasizes the importance of keeping a good pre-operative condition and illuminates the gynecologists role in good clinical results.
