A Case of Primary Lung Cancer : Peripheral Coin Lesion on the Chest X-ray Film Observed for 4 Years

A 61 years-old woman of primary lung cancer (Adenocarcinoma, T_1N_2M_0, Stage III) is presented. Since she had had no complaints and the radiological characteristics of the tumor had seemed to be benign, no further examinations were performed. After 4 years' observation, the bronchialarteriography was carried out at our hospital which revealed tumor stain and/or neovascular synthesis, suggesting the tumor to be mailgnant. Operation proved the metastasis of the mediastinal lymph node (# 7), not detected before operation, which resulted in failure of the radical operation. This case tells that further examinations should be carried out when malignant tumor was not completely neglected.
