In recent years, reconstructive surgery has rapidly advanced and has played a great role in cancer treatment. Reconstruction using various flap and material for maxillofacial defects have contributed to preservation of the structure and function of oral cavity. In this paper, biological characteristics of various flap and reconstructive materials of hard tissue are delineated. Moreover, fundamental techniques and some problems of these flap and material are summerized.
