Disc Electrophoresis of Proteins of Cerebrospinal Fluid in brain Tumors

Cerebrospinal fluid in brain tumors was investigated with 7.5% polyacryl-amidgel disc electrophoresis. Instead of classfication of protein fractions we tried to calculate the Alb/TP, Tr/TP and Pre/TP in ventricular and spinal liquor to discover the change of protein fractions. In results Alb and Tr fractions were in proportion to total protein but Pre fraction was not the same as that Alb and Tr. We therefore deliberated on the high percentage Pre in ventricular liquor of cerebellar hemangioblastoma and low percentage in ventrieular liquor of hypothalamic glioma. We guessed about the production of the Pre and increased total protein from the correlation of ventriculography, computerized tomography and protein fractions.
