We reported two patients with esophageal carcinoma who presented with atelectasis. Each had no digestive symptoms. Bronchoscopic findings showed tumors with buldge of tracheobronchial wall at the esophageal side in each cases. Computed tomography was very useful for diagnosis, because the thickened esophageal wall compressing tracheobronchial tree was detected on CT in each cases. It was concluded that advanced esophageal carcinoma with tracheobronchial involvement should be considered, even if digestive symptoms are absent.
