This paper is aiming to introduce current affairs related to international workers in Japan, especially those in short-term contracts and/or working part time, including international students. COVID-19 has had a strong influence all over the world. Due to the international and domestic travel regulations, the tourism and hospitality industries have been damaged in Japan. Many temporary workers were laid off,including non-Japanese workers.
