In order to understand the degree of liver damage and reserved liver function in liver disease, the glucagon double loading test was performed. Two intravenous doses of glucagon (10r/Kg body wcight) were administered at a 1-hr interval. Serum cyclic AMP was determined before the injection and 5, 10, 20 and 30 minutes after both doses. After glucagon administration, we compared the peak value of cycle AMP and peak value-basal in the first response with that of the second response. So the peak value and peak value/basal value in the second administration of of glucagon was comparatively lower than the value in the first administration in normal subjects.…
