Voltage and current characteristics of metal-oxide-metal thin film varistor prepared by vacuum evaporation method are discussed with the theory of R. Stratton on tunneling currents through thin insulating films. The results of experiments show the symmetric non-linear voltage and current characteristics. A brief discussion about the structure of insulating film is given and the model of insulating film is also proposed.
