The crystal structure of orthorhombic apophylite has been refined to an R of 0.035. Space group Pnnm, a = 8.964(7), b = 8.987(5) and c = 15.911(20) Å. It seems that the reason of the lowering of symmetry is due to the distortion of tetrahedreal layer.
