By means of the cross electrophoresis, interaction of antibiotics eith nucleic acids was studied. From the cross diahrams, it was elucidated that the various antibiotics were able to interact with RNA and DNA. Streptomycin, tetracyclines, and erythromycin combined so tightly with the nucleic acids that the latters precipitated on the line of antibiotics. Chloramphenical combined also with the nucleic acids and the mobility of the latters retaeded strangly. On the other hand, in the cases of penicillin and novobiocin interaction was not demonstrated from the cross diagrams. In regaed to RNA and DNA, no difference of the interaction with antibiotics was observed.
