從來魚油は其用途として電気的方面にはあまり利用せられず。この方面には殆ど鉱油のみが用いられた。然し最近は鉱油系の良好な絶縁油が次第に缺乏又は不足する様になつて,植物油例えば大豆油の如きものが絶縁油として,用いられる様になつて來つゝあると共に,動物油例えば鯨油や鰮油の様なものも亦絶縁油として,用いられんとしている。此拙い研究に於ては,魚油の電気的特性を探求し其結果を,鉱油や大豆油のそれと比較しようとするものである。
