Tatekoji is a historical street in the area Otono, Yamaguchi City. But for the past 27 years, there has been a obvious decrease of town-houses and gradually change to residential use from commercial one. The aim of this paper is to clarify the characteristics of this streetscape. We focus on front spaces of 109 buildings along the street. Through integrated analysis of the roof typology, the number of stories, and the open space along the street, these can be divided into five types. And the characteristics of the streetscape are analyzed by considering the continuity of same type buildings. In consequence, the street are divided into 6 area, these show three different phase of changing from historical continuity to recent intermittence.
