The soils at Akiyoshidai, Chojabara and Nishidai grasslands in Yamaguchi prefecture were studied for their general agrochemical and physical characteristics, and, as all of them showed large phoshate adsorption, the pot tests on the effect of phosphate application to each surface soil were crried out. The results obtained were as follows
