Development of a new academic information offer model by linkresolver and federated search : Measures taken by the yamaguchi university library

The route of distribution of information, in pace with the high speed of information change, is undergoing a change from the traditional paper-based medium to a digital-based medium. Even with academic information, the method of acquisition and provision of information from secondary reference documents to search databases and from books to online journals is greatly changing. At the Yamaguchi University library, as a new tool offering academic information, an integrated search function with Linkresolver was introduced, resulting in the realization of a cross search of electronic resources. This article discusses the processes involved in the introduction of these new sercices and the measures taken to resolove the problems with the system.
