Examination related to gastric acid secretion and gastric mucosal blood flow in sleep

I measured gastric mucosal blood flow (GMBF) and gastric acid output (AO) to clarify the change of GMBF and gastric acid secretion in sleep. It was suggested that GMBF and AO were somewhat decreasing as going to the sleep, and they were fixed and had not so much change in the deep sleep. Further, by awakening on the way of sleep, GMBF and AO were the same as results before sleep. And they rose remarkably after awalening in the morning. GMBF during REM-sleep tended to rise a littele compared with that of slow-wave sleep. But, rising of AO corresponded to rising of GMBF was not observed. All this, I confirmed that GMBF and AO in sleep tended to decrease according to the depth of sleep.
