Computed tomography (CT) is widely employed and indispensable in the evaluation of some ophthalmic disorders. CT using axial and cornal high resolution scans, multiplanar reconstruction makes it possible to locate the ophthalmic lesions with a high degree of accuracy and sensitivity. Technical refinement and expanding experience have improved the diagnostic ability and reduced the invasive procedures such as orbital venography, carotid angiography and surgical exploration. In this article, recent 566 patients in our clinic are studied retrospectively and various characteristics of these CT findings in ophthalmic lesions are summarized and discussed. Those include ocular, orbital, paranasal and intracranial diseases. CT was found to be useful iin the differential diagnosis, management and follow-up in the orbital diseases and neuroophthalmology.
