Up to this time, subperiosteal implant of the mandible has tendency to enlarge the posterior ridge of the frame. We designed a frame covering the prominentia lateralis (P.L.) which is localized in the lower part of linea obliqua of the mandible. The anatomical size, position and structure of the P.L. were analyzed in this study. The form of the P.L. was variable, and it is mainly due to the distribution patterns of two lineas which are orientated toward the mandibular basis or mental foramen. Generally three type of P.L. were endountered
