Aquestionnaire survery was conducted on the workers of a factory in order to investigate the effects of vaccination and other several factors on catching cold. The quantification theory was used for the analysis of data. The results obtained are as follows. 1) It was found that those who do not catch cold in usual year, who are in the habit of smoking during a long term and who are vaccinated against influenza are less liable to colds in the mentioned order. The preventive effects of vaccination on catching cold, however, were not so remarkable. 2) The alleviative effects of vaccination on the symptoms of cold were seen. Consequently, those who were vaccinated were absent from their duties owing to cold at a lower percentage than those who were not vaccinated.
