Splenic cysts are considered rare lesions. Cystic changes in the spleen occur less fresuently than cystic disease of any other abdominal viscera. Surgical interest in cysts of the spleen was aroused in 1904 in Germany. The first case of cystic spleen was a dermoid reported by Andrall in 1829. The first splenectomy for cyst was performed by the French surgoon Poan, in 1867. Since than, many cases of this lesion were reported, but less frequently in Japan. The first case of this lesion in Japan was reported by Arita in 1890. Since then, 90 cases were reported in Japan. We report a case of splenic cyst combined with chronic Pancreatitis and Perisplenis. The patient is 56 years old farmer without past history of abdominal trauma. His shief complaint was abdominal pain and sbdominal sensation of fullness. We tried some clinical examination and we finally dianosed him suffering from splenic cyst by selective visceral angiography. We treated him surgically by splenectomy for cyst and hemipancreatectomy for chronic pancreatitis. The patient was discharged cheerfully about 20 days after surgical operation. We would emphasize that selective visceral angiography is important examination for diagnosis of splenic cyst.
