Growth characteristics of L5178Y cells (mouse leukemic cells in vitro) in exponential phase were analyzed by the combination of methods by Puck and Steffen and by Okada and the cell cycle parameters were compared with tbose obtained by flow microfluorometirc measurement of DNA content distribution. The durations of G1, S, G2, and M were 2.2, 7.8, 1.8, and 0.7 hours, respectively. The growth fraction equaled unity. The fractions of cells in G1, S, and G2+M phases obtained by the analtsis of DNA content distribution pattern were 25.47, 62.73 and 11.80% and showed a good approximation to those estimated from kinetic analysis (G1=23.42% S=61.71%, G2=10.75%, and M=4.12%) . The coefficient of variation was 4.4%…
