Title
X-ray study of the dielectric anomaly at 161K of thiourea
The dielectric constant has a sharp peak at 161K in the ferroelectric phase and obeys a global Curie-Weiss law in a wide temperature range including the modulated phase. Excess X-ray scatterings are observed in the ferroelectric phase, which suggest that discommensurations remain as domain walls. The dielectric constant as a function of applied electric field indicates the oscillatory interaction between the discommensurations above 161K. The dielectric anomaly at 161K is attributed to a change of the interaction from oscillatory to exponential damping in the ferroelectric phase.
