Seven strains of leptospira, isolated from patients and several species of wild animals caught in Okinawa main island, were tested for the serovar determination of antigencity. Nearly two thousand sera from healthy inhabitants in Okinawa main island were also tested for the serovar determination of anti-leptospira antibody. As the results, besides 4 serovars, hebdomadis, pyrogenes, javanica and grippotyphosa, which have already been reported in Okinawa island, 4 new serovars were found.
