The corneas of 18 ichthyotic patients were examined by slit-lamp microscopy. In 3 of 15 with ichthyosis vulgaris, the fine multiple opacities were found bilaterally in deep layers of the corneal stroma : they were concentrated centrally and tapered down peripherally. The characteristic stromal changes were similar to those described by Kraupa as ichthyosis corneae.
