The blood flow od pancreatic tissue, serum glucose, plasima pancreatic glucagon and serum insulin were experimentally examined during before and after injection of 4ml of 2% deoxycholic acid (DOC, n=7) or saline (N=7) into the common pancreatic duct of dog. The blood flow measured by the heated cross-thermocouples techniwue was decreases to 56±13% at 120min after injection of DOC (p<0.01), which was significantly small value compairing with that after injection of saline (p<0.05). The blood flow measured by the hydrogen gas clearance method was 50.1±17.1ml/min/100g before injection of DOC. It decreased to 42.1±13.0ml/min/100g at 120 min after injection. The pancreas revealed actue hemorrhagic necrotising pancreatitis after injection of DOC, but no significant change after injection of saline. It was concluded that the injection of DOC into the common pancreatic duct of dog should be one of useful method of studying the severe pancreatitis.
