われわれは急性の閉塞に対してステント留置を行い一期的な切除手術が可能であったS状結腸癌の1例を経験したので報告する.症例は71歳,男性.北海道を旅行中に突然の腹痛を来して地域の病院へ入院となった.検査でS状結腸に腫瘤を診断されたが,患者が地元(山口県)での手術を希望したため閉塞に対して金属ステントが留置された.ただちに腹痛は消失し多量の排便を認め,その後当院へ紹介入院となった.S状結腸切除術が施行されたが術後経過は良好であり術後第10病日目に軽快退院した.患者は現在も再発徴候なく健在である.急性の大腸閉塞に対して術前の金属ステント留置は侵襲が少なく複数回の手術を回避することができ有用な方法と考えられる.

We present a case of sigmoid colon cancer treated by stent placement and single-stage resection for acute colonic obstruction. The patient was a 71-year-old man who experienced sudden abdominal pain while travelling in Hokkaido. He was admitted to a regional hospital and was found to have a tumor in the sigmoid colon. The patient was diagnosed with colonic obstruction caused by a tumor in the colon and was emplaced with a self-expandable metallic stent, which relieved abdominal pain and constipation. Thereafter, he was admitted to our hospital and underwent a sigmoidectomy. The patient’s postoperative course was uneventful and he was discharged 10 days after surgery
