Regards to Japanese mortality of the cancer developed in all organs, cancer of the degestive organs has occupied over 50% of all of the death due to malignancy. In this editorial article, I refered to the recent progress of diagnostic methods for early diagnosis of digestive cancer. The advance of gastroenteroenterological endoscopy has made possible diagnose minute cancer developed in the gastrointestinal tract. This will be related to decreasant of mortality in gastric cancer, However , early diagnosis of esophageal, pancreatico-biliary and hepatic cancer is still insfficient, even by the recent developed ultrasonic echogram (USEG) and/or computer tomography, although, of course, early diagnosed cases have increased…
