With intramuscular injections of aqueous vitamin D_s, fluorescent spots were predominantly localized in the fat-storing cells of the hepatic sinusoid. None of the hepatocyte had any indication of intracellular storing of vitamin D even with 10 injections of 10,000 I. U. per 100g of body weight. On the other hand the injections of vitamin D_2 dissolved in oil appeared to be stored in the rat heparocytes. This difference in localization was evident after 3 injections or more of vitamin D. With over-dose injection of vitamin D the rats in the group of aqueous solution experiments looked quite similar to those in control group. While the rat in the group that was injected with vitamin D_2 dissolved in oil vecame lifeless. ....
