The leaf-gall formed by Astegopteryx yanonis Matsumoto is commonly found on Distylium raremosicm Sieb. et Zucc. The effect of two kinds of insecticides on the prevention of the formation of the leaf-gall was tested. Both the spraying in thrice of Nicotine sulfate (1 : 1,000) with 1.Pj% soap solution and the spraying in once of Systron (active ingredient, r-BHC15^) (1 :1,000) solution on the young leaves were very effective for the control of the gall formation. When the spraying was done after the beginning of the gall formation, the leaf grew in misshape due to the interruption of hyperplasy of the tissue because of the death of the aphids already settled in it.
