An equivalence relation is a reflexive, symmetric, transitive binary relation. Equivalence relations are fundamental in the theory of relations and important in the fields of applications. In the paper relations are represented by boolean matrices, and properties of boolean matrices representing equivalence relations are examined. Especially equivalent conditions for equivalence relations are shown in the form of boolean matrices.
