Unsteady laminar free convection along a semi-infinite vertical flat plate is treated by the numerical method, which is valid in the vicinity of the leading edge. The steady state temperature, velocity and local Nusselt number distributions in the vicinity of the leading edge for constant wall temperature and Pr=0.72,1.0,10 have been calculated and compared with other experimental results for Pr=0.72. Good agreement is found between the present solutions and experimental results.
