The levels of serum lipids and serum apolipoproteins on the healthy aged people (96 males and 104 females aged 60 and over) were analyzed. The results were as follows : 1. The levels of LDL-FC, LDL-CE, LDL-C, T-C, apoB, C-II and E in females were higher than those in males. The higher their ages were, the lower were the levels of LDL-CE, LDL-C and T-C. The more obese they were, the higher were the levels of VLDL‐FC, VLDL‐C, LDL-CE, LDL-C, TG, apoC-II, C-III and E. However, the levels of HDL-FC, HDL-CE and HDL-C got lower as the body weight increased. 2. Normal values of serum lipids and apolipoproteins were calculated by adjusting the bias based on ages and degrees of obesity, and employing logarithmic transformation. 3. Those who took much protein showed high levels of HDL-C. Those who took much carbohydrate showed low levels of HDL-C. 4. The habitual drinkers of alcohol showed high HDL-C and apoA-I levels. Their VLDL-C, LDL-C, TG, apoB and apoE levels were low. 5. The relationships between serum lipid and apolipoprotein levels were investigated by using the factor analysis. 6. Those who had highly declining physical strength showed high leves of LDL-C and LPO. On the other hand, high levels of HDL-C and apoB were found in the people those who had lowly declining physical strength. Level of LPO was high for the people with high degree of decline in physical functions. On the other hand, levels of apoB was high for the people with low degree of decline in physical functions.
