Descriptions
Several types of tungsten carbide tools were formed with varying their microstructures, namely mean free-path for a binder phase. From experimental results it was found that the mean grain size and the mean free-path have a significant effect on tool wear in machining different materials of cement mortar, carbon steel and various cast iron rolls. As a result of this investigation, it is recommended to use the carbide tool's microstructrue for various cast iron rolls.
