Descriptions
Chalcopyrite and bornite occur in the Kouyama gabbroic body, Hagi, japan, and mainly studied for their texture and chemical compositions. Chalcopyrite has a polysynthetic twinning, and including string-like bornite. Bornite having lattice intergrowth of chalcopyrite, show polysynthetic twinning which chalcopyrite lattice is different orientation along their boundary. Concerning the mineral relations and compositions, they are thought to be crystallized at about 550℃, at intermediate sulfur fugacity.
