Descriptions
There are various definitions to speak of errors of product's form. Circularity is one of such definitions to estimate how close to an ideal circle the circular surface of a product is. Its evaluated value for a particular product is closely related to the dynamic characteristics of the employed workpiece-lathe system, not necessarily proper to the lathe itself. A method is proposed to process data and to obtain information about generated circularity and the above characteristics in cylindrical turning, with application to a practised example.
