Consumption, resources and environmental problems are connected with human development and existence. It is the common commission of all the nations in the world to fight against consumerism, stick to sustainable consumption and push ahead sustainable growth. As far as China and America are concerned, China should achieve a transition from investment to consumption while America should switch from consumption to investment. The main issues this paper studies is how the developing and developed countries to deal with the relationship between investment and consumption, and how to achieve sustainable development when they face the common human resources and environmental defficulties. The research mainly uses China and the United States as an example. The main research methodologies are qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. One Common Consensus: Consumption, Resources and the Environment are Connected with Human Existence and development.
