Microbial Contamination on the Clothes Part 1 : Bactial Contamination from Feet to Socks on Wearing

The quantitative analysis of bacterial contamination from to socks on wearing was attemped from September 1992 to December 1992 in this study. The total number of persons ivestigated through this study was 64. who were male and female students in our university The results were as folluws 1. The number of contaminated bactria on socks worn 8 hours ranged from lOcfu/cm^2 to 10^4 cfu/cm^2 with a great defference among indeviduals. The mean value was 10^3 cfu/cm^2. 2. The number of contaminated bacteria on socks was not significantly different in each month from September to November. 3. This study revealed the tendency that more contaminated bacteria were found on socks worn by male students than those by female students. 4. The contaminated bacteria on socks significantly increased in number as wearing within 5 hourrs, but did not increase after then.
