本研究の目的は,大学の「社会貢献」の代表的な事業である公開講座を通して,大学教員と地域とのかかわりを考察し,教育・研究に基づいた「地域連携」のあり方を検討することである。山口大学の公開講座には,地域連携を中心としたフィールド型のものがある。これらは,大学教員が,研究者としてだけでなく,ひとりの人間として,その地域と長くかかわるなかで成り立っており,地域連携は,教育および研究と別個のものではなく,内在されるものであり,大学教員の教育や研究に影響を及ぼす可能性をもつ。
